16th April Message In A Bottle

Just before leaving Pop Hicks cafe, I wrote the following message, scented it with my grandfather's shaving lotion, and attached it to a box of McVitties lemon curd cakes:

To whoever made the pecan pie: My dad's family, the Hills, are from eastern Oklahoma (Stigler, near Muskogee) and my grandparents had a huge old pecan tree in their back yard. We used to shell the nuts and then my grandma Dorothy would make pecan pie. I remember one year I got a letter from Grandma telling me that she and Grandpa were bringing up a little baby squirrel in the house, feeding it through an eye dropper etc., because, 'Grandpa shot its mama. She kept stealing our pecans.' After the baby got big enough to go and live outside, it got into the tree and grandpa shot it too.

Anyway, thanks for the pie. Here are some lemon cakes I brought back from Britain, where I've been living for the past 10 years.
