We found the sign at Michigan and Adams across from the Chicago Art Institute marking the begining of Route 66. Before we started driving, I hopped out, climbed up a litter bin and stuck a silver star to the sign. Propped up against the signpost, I left a video marked PLAY ME and one of our cards. The video showed Dunluce Castle on the Antrim coast, Paul's garden in Belfast and the Giant's Causeway. By the time I got back to the car, I saw a tall black man in a gray jacket pick up the tape, stare at it, turn it over in his hands, take it out of the case, read the card, and walk away with it. I wonder if he is at home playing it now.
