28th April Message In A Bottle

As soon as we arrived, Andre from the Bagdad Cafe, presented us with the message book. Out of all the diner message books I have had a chance to sign on the trip so far, this was by far the most prolific. I dont know whether this is to do with the film or whether the tone was simply set by the first entrant, a young frenchman, who wrote over a page about how happy he was to be there. So I in turn left my story. I wrote how the book reminded me of the give and take element of our trip, with it's wonderful stories, some light hearted, others quite personal. One man had written all about his dog, Goldie, who had accompanied him on all his road trips and had been photographed at all the main attraction points, the Pacific, the Atlantic and not least the Bagdad Cafe itself. I left one of our cards taped underneath my note and a small box of Mint Imperials from the Tower of London.
