This journey is about giving and taking, leaving traces of ourselves as we travel the 2,000 miles west. As Rich Henry gave us so much, we in turn left him with a packet of Sainsbury's tea, some McVitie's chocolate digestives and an old eight shilling map of Norfolk, where I was born. Rich was delighted with the gifts, saying that his wife loved tea and that he would put the map in his special 'Not For Sale' display case.

We left another old map, this time of Maidstone, Kent, where I grew up, with Wrinkle - though I think he was more pleased that we purchased a denim vest with 'genuine Route 66 labels' for seventeen dollars.
